Diese Diskografie ist eine Übersicht über die musikalischen Werke der US-amerikanischen Metalband Metallica. Den Quellenangaben zufolge hat sie in ihrer Karriere bislang mehr als 125 Millionen Tonträger verkauft, womit sie zu den erfolgreichsten Bands aller Zeiten gehören.[1] Allein in ihrer Heimat verkauften sie den Schallplattenauszeichnungen zufolge über 74,2 Millionen Tonträger. In Deutschland konnte die Gruppe bis heute mehr als 10,2 Millionen Tonträger vertreiben und gehört somit zu den Interpreten mit den meisten verkauften Tonträgern in Deutschland. Die erfolgreichste Veröffentlichung von Metallica ist das fünfte Studioalbum Metallica mit über 30 Millionen verkauften Einheiten. Das Album verkaufte sich alleine in Deutschland über zwei Millionen Mal, womit es zu den meistverkauften Alben seit 1975 zählt. Zusammen mit Load (1,25 Millionen), ReLoad (1,25 Millionen) und …And Justice for All (1 Million) zählen Metallica insgesamt vier Millionenseller in Deutschland.
